The Thruway problems were when the truck jack knifed the cars couldn't move and snow was coming down about 2-3 inches an hour so they got snow bound. Some places got 28 + inches while others a few miles away got 5 inches. All lake effect off of Lake Erie.

    Blame the truck driver........

Come on. The real blame is Lake Erie and lake effect snow.:biggrin_25514::biggrin_2559:

Not at all medic!! OMG I can't believe what some of the drivers had to put up with! The thruway looked like a T/S!! It's not like they could pull off or go to a friend's house if they couldn't get home (which is what my sister did went to her son's house in Amherst as she lives in Orchard Park and no way was gonna get there)

One of the drivers TruckerDave works with was stuck there trying to deliver to Rochester. Poor guy like 17 hours. suxs........

I am only yanking your chain.

I know you do not blame them.

I avoid NY when Lake effect is possible.

I've said for years they need to pull the plug on Lake Erie and drain that mother for the winter months......

and put all the water into Lake Ontario so Rochester and Syracuse get pounded :biggrin_2559:

Seriously they do lower the level of the lakes in the winter -not sure by how much but it's significant enough you can tell in the low laying areas.
