I mean, at the end of the day, it's like any other contractor out there. Hail and dent guys, or roofing contractors, just for example, or any of a number of others. I know a guy who hired a company to cut some timber and to replace a bridge on his property. The company cleared the timber, took it, and dipped - never to be heard from again.

There's good folks and bad. Folks who are good at their job and folks who aren't. You just have to be careful, and constantly revising how you evaluate and vet people.

Had another one Monday that was caught.

Carrier: Please give us a QP. We are a small one truck company and need the money now. 6K is too much to wait for.

AP person: You didn't haul the load, a different carrier did. They have the original BOL's And they have a rate con from your "broker"**** for 7K. Customer verified the company with pictures, that's who we are paying, not you.

Carrier: F*** you. And hung up.

I don’t know about a Fed requirement but it’s done in the LTL world regularly, particularly at places who use different carriers. How else would they know who’s taking what?

A lot of shippers/receivers will not verify the truck, just ask who it is.

    PPLC and Old_n_gray Thank this.

Haha, even security won't turn their head to look out the window to verify the truck half the time...

Did a lot of double blind shipments. Check in as this at shipper. Check in as this at receiver.

    PPLC Thanks this.

Think that was double brokered or just a blind shipment?

    PPLC Thanks this.

Real shipper doesn't want the receiver to know who ordered product and or who the shipper is. I am just a company man but I have seen it a lot in my career. Ask the small carriers that are on here they can explain it a lot better than me. @wichris @Ridgeline @PPDCT ?

    PPLC and AsphaltFarmer Thank this.
