Anyone be a little more specific RE: orientation and what to expect. Not concerned about drug test, but mor of the daily routine for orientation. Also, how long before you get your truck and first load? Thinking about going, just don't want to spend 5-7 days waiting on a truck. The company I'm with now took over a wk to get me in a truck.

Not with them anymore. But.... if orientation is what it used to be you will be there Monday am. They will do paperwork the whole first day. Then you do securement class to ensure you secure to Builders standards. Safety and Knowledge classes with Safety (including e-logs). Generally, you will get your truck on Thursday or Friday.

Yep, pretty much still the same. Orientation starts on Monday AM with the typical paperwork that every other company does. Tuesday there is a physical test and other classes/sessions like meeting with the safety teams and such...different departments will come in a give you a talk about what they do here and what is expected of you as a new team member. Wednesday is load securement day. You will go through numerous load scenarios in the morning and then go out to the training area for a hands on tutorial of learning securement the way BTC prefers. Thursday AM there are a couple more sessions on things like Qualcom usage and learning our macros....then the class kind of separates...the drivers that come in as first seat drivers (drivers that don't require the two weeks with a trainer) will take a "pre-trip inspection" test to be sure they know how to perform a PTI properly. A driving test will be administered by our training staff. Truck assignments are given out and then its off to pick up your first load as a new BTC driver. Your first load normally takes you home.

For the drivers that are going to go through the two week training program (experienced drivers with little or no flat bed experience), at the end of the day on Wednesday, you are paired up with one of our driver trainers will usually head out the next day to begin training.

    Hope this helps

I know the guy (unseenones) that was telling the truth about btc. We both know a lot about what goes on behind closed doors that most have no idea about. We went to company meetings there for years. I worked for them for a long time (7 1/2 years) and no they are not at all the company they once were. If they were I would still be there. I lived 2 hours away and could probably have gotten home most weekends but I wanted to make money. Simple you do the math. Top out at 45 cents a mile times 2200 miles. That's $990 now by the time you take taxes and health insurance out you may bring in $650. And yes 2200 is the average miles and about 3 loads a week because of elogs. A lot of the original road team members who was with the company more than 5 years are gone. Why? Just make sure you do all your research before making a final decision that's all I am saying. Don't listen to just their recruiting department. Good luck

You can do better on the insurance for family elsewhere. I didn't buy into their insurance it was to high and wasn't good coverage. That was like 2 years ago when I started to buy into it and it was like $180 a week for family. But they had a rate increase and my buddy there is paying like $230 a week now. But I think most places had an increase because of all the health care changes. But again my opinion you can do better. I buy my own for $160 a week for family from a outside source.

man that's wild....if I were bringing in $650 a week I would probably head on down the road as well....I haven't had a week bring home less that 800 in a long time...I guess its different for everyone...
