Building a 6nz for a 2012 glider kit. Want a good strong running truck with out over doing it. What is a good cam, turbo, injector selection? Also what would be a good flash file and fuel codes to use?
Building a 6NZ..Any suggestions?

I just rebuilt one, dyno'd 700hp and 2200ft/lbs at the rear wheels, stock turbo, dura-lite cac, fuel temp chip, flowed fuel pump, took out all the hard 90* fittings, STOCK 550 FLASH, pdi manifold, custom exhaust manifold stud kit (never break a stud again!), and changed fls/fts to something I know that works. I think where a bit of the power came from was the custom injectors I had built and balanced to run within 2.5% of each other, just from running 5232 codes on the dyno to balanced codes it made another 100ft/lbs more torque. The shop that built mine call them 170 lb/hr injectors, hardly any smoke. Stockers run at 145-155 lb/hr, and run with 15% of each other. Truck is a blast to drive, and is used to move heavy equiptment, hills with a heavy load dont see egt's over 800* and boost over 38psi.

What kind of horsepower could one expect from a 6NZ with a 800hp marine cam, PDI stage 1 tune, PDI manifold, and BW turbo. Also PDI injectors although I have no idea what trim codes, would imagine that depends on what you want out of the application. Would this build put 750 to the wheels? Is 750hp streetable in the same sense as 550? What I mean by that last question is I have read how much attention and focus it takes to drive a 1000+ hp motor in a work truck to keep from tearing up the driveline. 550 or 750 is obviously a lot more forgiving.. 1000+ hp making you feel stressed out just from staying so focused on every shift and move... It takes concentration in a 550 as well but not anywhere near what you've described in a post on here somewhere about driving your truck Kurt..
