I have a 2007 Volvo 670 with a Cummins 870 And 3 of my hoses are larger then they should be I had it dot'd and the guy pointed it out to me and said it may be my compressor going bad and pushing to air through the system. I've had this truck for 4 1/2 years and it has always built air slow in the morning I've changed the governor twice still the same thing. it takes about 4 minutes on regular idle .once it's over 100 psi everything normal

If you are pushing air into the Coolant you will be blowing coolant out of the Coolant tank... A Slow building system could be a lot.. Is the EGR system still hooked up? Do you have ANY air leaks? How cold is it in the Morning? Did you ever replace your Air dryer filter?...

I changed the whole Air Dryer twice it's always built air slow. my fill line on the tank is half way up the tank and after about an hour the tank is full I just figured that to be normal and the EGR is still hooked up and it builds slow summer winter spring or fall thanks.

Could just be old hoses that are due to be replaced before they burst.

I have been told it is normal that a Cummins compressor is slower than you would expect.

    Could just be bad hoses.

Could have carbon build up on the compressor outline

Likely you need new compressor. As I understand carbon builds in compressor head and valves never close ( or open) all the way.

Coolant hoses swell and soften with age.

Sounds like yours need replaced before they burst causing a tow bill.
