Thats why I buy it on sale I can get valvoline cheaper than my mechanics synthetic blend at $12.00 a gallon and for some reason it uses oil with synthetic but not with dino oil.

    Dave_in_AZ Thanks this.

My neighbor swears by Schaeffers oil, but it's pricey.

Same stuff that I run. I always wait until it goes on sale at 10.99 a gallon. I bought 40 gallons a couple months ago and also got there 11% rebate.

Last year I bought a 55 gal drum of Rotella delivered to my house for $750 which is a little more than $13 a gallon..this year I started looking at maybe getting another drum but realized that tractor supply has the 5 gallon buckets on sale for $59...sooo I bought 6 of their remaining buckets and went back later and bought around 10 2.5 gallon jugs of Rotella to stock up for next year. From my experience it didn't do any good buying the drum but at least now I have the drum to store the oil that I bought and with the hand crank pump I installed on the drum its kind of convenient to use, the 2.5 gallon jugs are convenient for using when Im draining my oil I just put an mty jug under my C15 turn the valve on my drain plug and fill them up for the oil recycling center down the road.

Been looking as well. My local supplier (Dawson Thompson) is actually higher on a drum of Rotella 15W-40 oil versus Rural King. Oil I prefer I'm told by Dawson Thompson is no longer available, Pennzoil 15W-40.

One can get Travelers Oil at Tractor Supply for $39 a 5 gal bucket. Anyone ever use this oil? We have a Home Farm & Fleet near us as well and they have a brand that is $39 a 5 gallon bucket as well.

same here, can't see a cost benefit. i usually can score valvoline premium blue at menards on sale for 10 bucks a gallon at some point between oil changes, and it's the oil my motor likes best-least blowby smell and consumption.

I just finished up about 20 buckets of it that I bought really cheap a year or two ago. I did get a few random oil samples that were screwy but otherwise no issues with Traveler oil. I'm looking for Napa 5 gallon buckets to go on sale again. Used it before I was using Traveler and always had good samples. I like it and think its good oil.
