What kind of pay can a driver expect if he busts ###?

I can't say for sure as I'm not there yet. It's 94 cents per loaded mile, $60 to unload, $40 to load and $25 drop and hook if I remember right. Mickey the terminal manager said it's an 80-85k yearly gig.

So tomorrow will be the end of my second week. First day was just paperwork. I've been at the BASF Wyandotte plant training with our loader on plastics. The first week had me wondering if I'd made a big mistake. I was messing up a lot and felt like an idiot. It started clicking for me on Friday. The first few days of this week were smooth. I spent yesterday and today doing the BU training at the hotel near the yard. Back with Marcus at BASF tomorrow then I should be on the road with a trainer that can release me come Monday. Still getting used to the hoses, man am I out of shape...lol.

I loaded a couple plastic trailers with my trainer, but I don't do plastics. It was a strange thing compared to what I was use to, everything seemed the opposite if I remember correctly.

Don't worry to much, I had the same things going thru my mind when I started wondering if I had just made a terrible mistake, but it gets better. Like most things the more you do it the more you become familiar with it and figure out a system that works well for you.

I know what you mean about the out of shape thing, especially with that #### big s/s hose. For me it was mostly hand/finger strength.

I like plastics. You can hear it good compared to flour. Flour scares the begeezers outta me. Lol. Loading from the discharge pipe just seems wrong...

Anyone know if Hodgkins/Argo day cabs are manuals or is this another fleet going to all automatics?

So I've been on my own three weeks now. Still some ups and downs but I'm doing better and I'm making money. My first week solo I grossed over $1300, second week was only $950 but it was slow. Week 3 I got to go out overnight and I ended up doing about $1500 for the week. Everyone here are good people. Other drivers are very helpful and dispatch is great, though the company decided to centralize dispatch to HQ in indiana, so our dispatchers will be out of a job come next month. Pretty dumb if you ask me but I just hope the operation doesn't suffer too much from the change.
