Deer jump over 5 foot fences. They jump on the side of a road into the road. Maybe the actuary got it right with the shorty grill thou.

Could some states have an issue that the additional bumper might make the truck over length?

I had a human about 5'10" 160 pounds run/jump in front of my company truck, cruise set at 64 ... Stuck his shoulder into the grill, and laid his head on the top of grill/hood ... Took out a few ribs of the plastic grill, caused the a/c to leak, and cracked the fiberglass around the mirror mount ...

Officier said that probably would have been more damage if his feet were on the ground when we collided!

Yes, I drove it away, and delivered my load that afternoon

Every truck I've had I have always had a full moose bumper.

I think they are worth the expense if you drive at night like I do, or out in the boonies or the mountians, where I live.

I've hit 5 deer, 1 tire, 1 battery box cover, and 2 bear.
I took the head of 1 deer, and killed 3 of the other 4.
The tire was a full recap that came off a trailer, and came to a rest standing straight up in my lane. I had no where to go with someone else beside me, and no shoulder on a blind curve. Hit it dead centre. Scuffed my bumper, missed my oil pan, got tied up on my trailer bumper. No damage.
Battery box cover fell off a dump truck in winnipeg, slid in front of me, and I vaporized it.
Played ping pong with 2 bear. Which if you never hit one before, fair better than dear and bounce and roll very well. If you run over one your going over.

Plus the countless brake checks that monster avoided me. Finally my friend survived a head on collision at 65mph with a honda civic, the guy used him to commit suicide in BC on hwy 1 near salmon arm. My buddy walked away from the crash.

When I look at a bumper like that I look at 2 things.
    - is it gonna handle more than 1 big hit with no truck damage?
    - Is it gonna kill what I hit so I don't have to finish the job myself and save an animal from cruelty.

    BONUS:
-when that car goes to brake check me can I sit there and go "C'mon #######, try me. I could use another paid for by you."

A random deer? Those are messy. But try a 4000 pound steer along the red river. Barbed wire flaw in fencing says Mr Steer can go where he wants at night and it's the same color as pavement. I learned to keep a car in front. They will find the steer first before I do.

Those are nice to have. Make sure it's the proper metals and tubing engineering. You do NOT want cosmetic or pretty boy bars. Ugh. Sometimes with the right plate steel thick enough at the bottom you can be very persuasive in low gear gently parking cars properly.
