    Hi everyone. I own a 2000 western star4964ex and is missing the front bracket where the original bumper bolts on. I’m the bumper that it came with when I bought it looks like an aftermarket that the chrome is pealing off making it look ugly. I’m looking to buy a grill guard bumper(like a herd or something similar) my question is will this type of bumper needs the original truck bracket or the bumper bracket will bolt on directly to the frame. Thanks in advance. Just want to make sure before I order one or if I need to look for an original bracket for may truck.

    I'd look under the bumper again and see where yours mounts then check out what you want to buy and see how that mounts. Mine, 97 4900, original bumper mounts to frame with a cutout for tow hook in middle. Idk, hope this helps
