    The clutch is the only pedal that stops the shutdown.

    Can you see your intermediate steering shaft next to your clutch pedal and your brake pedal? You can get a boot lace and tie the clutch pedal to the very end of the intermediate steering shaft and that will hold it all the way down. If your truck is like mine

    On my Freightliner. .put a weight on accelerator. .start truck...it will idle all night

    Im not that cold yet. And even in 4 degrees you can still smell them.

    What if I just start it with the accelerator depressed and take my foot off?

    If you are savy enough you may be able to use a strap to pull on the clutch linkage under the floor boards (outside of cab) to hold the clutch pedal down... But this may require another person to help with strap or holding clutch down while you attach the strap to the linkage to hold it in place.
