I am trying to run the bunk heater but whenever I turn it on the dashboard lights turn on also. And I am concerned the dashboard lights will drain the battery. By dashboard I mean the electronic gauge cluster. It will actually stay on even if I turn the bunk heater off. The dashboard lights seem to get stuck on sometimes unless I cut off the juice to the whole truck. Is this normal? Is the electronic gauge cluster going to drain the batteries? This is my 1st night in this truck. Thanks.

if it drains your batteries you need new ones.... you can run the bunk heater all night with your parking lights on and it's start just fine...

I have same issue, dash board lights on and front cab heater fan on. How to save batteries? After 8-10 hours Webasto drained brand new battery to 10.9v-11.8v.
In my previous Cascadia I disconnected one extra cable from the ignition key to keep the APU and Webasto running with the engine running.

2020 international. I don't know the model but it says LT on the hood. Old timer at our company said it's normal...

I don't think this is a defect, the dash lights do come on when the door is opened. With the front blower on the body controller is functioning which will wake up the light control module. The dash lights are all small micro LEDs and do not draw much current, so they should not cause battery draining. You can turn down the dimmer dial on the light control panel where your headlight switch is to minimize the light if you like.

If it really bothers you you can remove the feedback wire at the body controller from the bunk heater. I don’t recall what terminal it is though.
