    I am glad you are happy there. I wish things could have been different for us. If you have been there a while then you know what their negative aspects are and if you can work with that and still get the miles to survive and be happy then that is great. I loved the ProStar, it was beautiful and there was so much room it was like an RV. Hopefully whatever you are driving gives you the miles to succeed and take care of yourself. :biggrin_25526:

    Hi Bunny I think its great that you like where you work. Nothing is worse than hating your job.
    I have to say tho that I disagree with your reluctance to hear negative posting about your topic. While I do agree with you that personal attacks are not cool I dont see anything wrong with letting the rest of us see both sides of this. I have been considering Celadon and really wouldnt even believe a post that had nothing but sweet things said about any company! And even while you may not like what a few have to say you would have to admit that it actually may have helped you. Consider this: Would you have ever even looked into some of these issues that some posters are alleging had they not done it here? And if you found it to be not true would that not even further your like of where you are? Or, on the other hand, you might have found out that they were actually right on some things and you were misled.

    As far as you chewing on another driver on the CB. Do you really think that did any good at all? I gaurantee that he's out there today doing the same thing you yelled at him for. It's just not worth it.

    Standing up for yourself? Sometimes you have to figure out whats worth more, my pride or my job?

    MHO

    While you have valid points, this section of the forum is for discussing your favorite trucking company, not bad trucking companies. While differing opinions are acceptable even in this section, turning it into a bash fest is not what it's about.

    Does this mean we're gonna rename the forums "Rose Colored Glasses" and "Tales From The Outhouse" ? :biggrin_25525:

    Nope!::biggrin_25512: Cheeky little bugger.:biggrin_25525:

    Although I think 'Tales from the Outhouse' almost describes most of the industry and economy right now. Hopefully things will start picking back up this year.

    :yes2557:Ok Ok Ok!!!!!!!!!!!!! BIG UPDATE GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I actually got to sit down with my bossman ( the ops manager) and have a decent conversation!!!! This was scary at first because he is always like stressed out and "uptight"... I see him in a totally different way now..We had such a good conversation it almost knocked me for a loopy loop..LOL.. Remember the whole situation about the guy beating on my door and cussing me? Well, that's what all the "hurry up n get to Indy" thing was about...The guys in Laredo must have been talking about terminating someone else..But they had my screen up and were looking at me so I got nervous..LOL SILLY ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One thing I do know is that I have employment here at Celadon and I plan to stay here forever if I can..And the miles since I have come back from vacation have been gr8!!! Things are really picking up.. Now, as far as some comments that have been made in my absence...:biggrin_2551:

    Scarecrow......I am more inclined to say that I have this thread here because it's a positive place to have it..I have also been upfront with alot of things that have been said here..Are there negative things about Celadon? I would have to say yes and there are also negative things about swift, werner, jb,crst, crete, covenant, us express and the many many more companies out there. That doesn't mean that that's all there is to a company... I focus on the positive because it's what keeps me going. And in my personal opinion there are more positive things here at Celadon then negative..:biggrin_25526:

    So having said all that...I am back to running the canada side of things also..Boy the roads were monsterous when I went up there but with skill and professionalism everything works out!!!

    Be careful out there on the highways and stay alert..:biggrin_25520:

    ..the only freight i see surving this year is the food & beverage industries, everything else looks to b flat or going downhill.. Circuit City closing 567 stores, retailers slashing prices practically giving away merchandise they can't sell, housing, commercial & residential, dead in the water; i just don't see any improvemnt for freight this year.. there will b a lot more marginal trucking companies going under this year.. wish i could paint a brighter picture for the new year & hope i'm wrong, but this year is gonna be a killer for a lot of OTR drivers, good luck to ya all if u can make it thru this year!
