I see your point, I just didnt see them as being driver freindly when I worked there, they may have changed. I still know some guys that drive over there, and they tell me that the only reason that they stay is because of the bonuses. When we were still on the Zipp board we had it made over there, and then they retired the ZIpp label (In fact the first truck I had said Celadon-Zipp on it)and that is when the problems started. BTW, the Indy terminal was not a renovated facility. Celadon built it from scratch about the time that they bought Zipp Express, They kept the Zipp Terminal for a while(it was down on Shelby on the Southside)but they eventually sold it to The Connection(now SAIA) Their original terminal was over by the AIrport-where Air Road's terminal was(Air Road is now part of the Celadon group), and then they kinda moved around antil they bought the land off of 30th Street. Jaguar has always been owned by Steve, he started them back when they were still running flatbeds, They sold the flatbed division off about 8 years ago or so to some place out East. I worked there when they changed the name of Celamex to Jaguar, they used to bring all their trucks to Indy to have them prepped. I also was there when they bought Gerth(now Celadon Canada).

Hi kingsson.....yes as a matter of fact i have banked my vacation and my bonus money..you can do this up to 3 times..When you start, the first 30,000 miles you get, u only get the money not the vacation. The second 30,000 miles you get the money and the vacation...As far as getting home, I live in a very popular area for hometime..TX!!!!!! So whenever I want to just get by the house I ask for a Laredo load or a Dallas ld..9 times out of 10 I get it..:biggrin_25526: Our trks are governed at about 65 to 67..Celadon also pays 50% of Idleaire if u choose to use it..We can use our comdata fuel card to pay for it and it just comes out of our payroll. Pretty cool if u ask me!!

Call Celadon and a recruiter will answer all ur questions or I can answer as many as I can here...

For your info the terrorist's name was Iyman Faris (aka Mohammed Rauff). And yes, he drove for Celadon under both names and yes he is serving a 20 year sentence for plotting to blow up the Brooklyn Bridge and funneling money to Al Queda in his homeland of Pakistan. Look it up if you dont beleive me, or better yet ask them over there at Celadon about it. He was sentenced on October 2003,( I guess it was more like 5 years ago) still they hired him under both names. He was not an employee though of Celadon(he was actually an independent driver) when he was arested, but he was employed there at Celadon previously -not once, but twice under both his names.

That being said, Independent Driver means he owned his own truck correct? right...So and you also say this was about 5 yrs ago..Well correct me if I am wrong but that would have been back in 2003 or so..NOW MY POINT IS THIS....WHY IN THE HECK WOULD YOU TELL ANOTHER WORKING DRIVER TO BACK AWAY FROM CELADON WHEN THIS IS 2008 NOT 2003? BEFORE YOU START TALKING TRASH IN MY THREAD GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT ABOUT THE CURRENT ACTIONS GOING ON AT CELADON NOT WHAT HAPPENED 5 YRS AGO!!!!!!!!! PEOPLE DON'T LIVE IN THE PAST TIMTRUCK THEY LIVE FOR TOMORROW AND THE FUTURE!!!!!

Thanks Drive-a-Mack!!!! The trks r governed at about 65 to 67 mph..Must keep the idle time down below fleet average...They don't tend to write you up or doc ur pay but they do talk to you about it the first couple of times then if u don't at least try to get it down then they will write you up...The new trks have those heaters that run without idling the trk. Yes I have had detention pay when at a customer over 2 hrs..We give each customer that is a live unld (which is rare, this is mostly d n h) a 2 hour window to get their freight off the trailer after such time hourly detention is paid till your empty macro is sent in. As to how much it is I'm not quite sure because 9 times out of 10 my freight is drop n hook.

Bunny I have a friend who drives for celadon and loves it. Are they hiring currently? I have had a couple of calls to them but no response. More curious of what proof of experience they need. I have driven for my Dad for a year but no experience with a company. He owns his own truck.

Heater is nice in the winter, but no help in the summer. The company I drive for supplies APU's for the drivers comfort.

    Spoiled Bunny,

    Thank you for your posts.

I continue to be amazed by the lack of common sense, the excessive bigotry, irrational bravado and just plain idiocy I frequently see on threads on this website. I keep telling myself that there must be people of average (or above) intelligence that use this site; sadly they are in short supply and are badly out numbered by the illiterate cretins that should have stayed in high school long enough to learn how to form a sentence and cogently express a thought. However, I assume that the reasonable people (those that work hard, don't think companies owe the employees something just for showing up, understand that companies are for-profit enterprises, and don't dispense truck loads of ignorant bombast) are actually driving (and delivering on time) instead of being here complaining. That said (can't wait for the replys calling me a variety of names and accusing me of unnatural acts), I am now going to look at Celadon as a first employer. I am in CDL school (because I want to be, I'm coming out of retirement to do this) and graduate in a couple of weeks. I have pre-hire letters from Roehl, Shaffer/Crete, H.O.Wolding, Swift, Werner and am awaiting word from KLLM and Stevens but now I'll give Celadon a look due to your endorsement. Any company that has a driver as intelligent and thoughtful as you deserves a look. Thanks.

    October Guy
