Chinatown, you bring up a good point, as usual. I am not a trucker and I may be wrong but some of these companies training goes on forever.
I am thinking of starting a thread about training time. I want the best training I can get but it seems like you will pick up a lot as you go along on your own.
Dont want to steal this thread so I will start another.

    Chinatown Thanks this.

They are definitely sensitive on the turns. I quit worrying about it because you could have the #### thing in 1st gear and set it off on a turn. When bobtail it can be pretty easy to set it off with acceleration and braking. Doesn't matter if you accelerate smooth, if you do it too fast it will trip the cameras. I set mine off 3 or 4 times a day on turns.

Yesterday, carrying a beer load I didn't set it off at all, not once. But bobtailing? I set it off several times.

And the kicker is...all they have to do is save those events and guess what...your dangerous...doesn't mater if they are valid or not, they have built their case against you. End of story.

Every job has positives and every job has negatives. You ALWAYS take the bad with the good. No matter what you might want to do, bad things will be part of the job.
There is a lot of rumor, a lot of guesswork, and a lot of hypotheticals with the cameras, but until they affect me in a negative way I'm not going to worry about them. Last two days I haven't had a single Critical event. On the ones I had earlier, I haven't heard a word on them, so I'm not going to waste much time worrying about what they MIGHT do, or COULD do, I'm only worried about what they are DOING, and at the moment...to me...that seems like nothing.
People can spend time obsessing over the cameras and being upset because they are there...or better yet, because at some point this year they might get one installed, or they can go about their business. From what I have personally experienced, its mostly hype. What I experience may change in the future. In the future my opinion may change concerning them but I make an honest attempt to drive safe, and smooth, I wear my seatbelt, and I come to full stops at stopsigns, so...you know...unless I get called to the mat for something stupid, I'll keep on keeping on and trust that the Millis family honestly has more important things going on to worry about watching every driver every time something is keyed up. The purpose of the cameras in the first place is for accident investigation and I'm sure that this will be the only time they really pay attention to what happened.

I do intend to do video, just have no way to do it at the moment. As soon as I can, I will. I have quite a few pictures, but they are all on my phone and not sure how to post them here. I have my camera and I'll take pics with that and load them on my laptop. As for experiences as a new driver? I could start a thread on that.
