    1000 miles in one day??

Never...I could never do that...even in my hey day...I could never do 1000 miles a day...

Although I have seen a few of those buses pass me like I was standing still...
But that's really really pushing it...

But then again, the pressure of having to meet some bands schedual must be intense...

One thing about it, like with trucking, there's hundreds, if not thousands of different bus/charter outfits across the land, each ran differently, different owners, different pay scales ect ect...

Your experience in bus/charter, isn't nessicarily the next guys...
Just like on here with trucking...

Some seem to have a smooth path, others, it's like there being dragged over stickers...

Like with anything else, there's many different variables...

I've spoken with guys who did not get paid as you did, their pay was based on a different method, not mileage...

Same with when I run now and then, it's not based on mileage...

And then there's a difference between specialized coach charter, (as you did) and just being a driver who works for a company like say 'American Coach'...

Most drivers never have to touch or clean anything (accept basic sanitation)...cause like with truck companies, most bus companies have shops and maintance personal...

Sounds like you were a type of 'leased' operator or something...

So yes, I can consider your 'angle', but it's not the only angle or outcome...

Some work in the trucking industry for 20 years, and never get no where...then there are others who work in it for 2 years, and do more in 2 years, as far a career and revenue, than some do in 20...

Again, many variables, one persons experience and path, isn't nessicarily anothers...not even...but it still helps to consider input from all, as long as other peoples inputs don't become a closed lid.

Last night...I went to work, for the trucking side of driving...it was a very lonely, grueling 500 + mile round trip drive...

When I got to destination...I was greeted by rain, and darkness...

    No interaction what so ever...

On Friday, when I do the other type of driving...I will be going here again...(photo below)..where last time I met a nice lady, whom I had dinner with...

Which type of driving job you decide on, will totally depend on your maritial status...

If your married, and have 500 kids already...it will just be a job to you...but if your a single male or female...a job like this, opens up, presents, all sorts of social opportunities, that trucking just cannot...

I've done both, so I can contrast the two...(speaking to drivers, not owners)...

And in coach...you get tipped, go to exciting destinations and meet people galor...it's up to you to make the most of your enviornment...

In trucking...you drive a lone, meet no one, stay to yourself, and sleep next to loud diesel engines at night...

Money wise, thus far, I get more bang for my buck in charter...

get tipped, cash per diem, on the spot...and nice hotel room when required...

And it's just nice dressing up for a change...your recieved differently...
    But to each their own...

Well, I'll be suiting up here in a bit...

    Destination...theme park...lights and food...

    And lot's of sexy people...

Easy job...just drive there...and then drive back...keep it between the lines...and everything will be ok...

The only difference or main difference while driving, is your always on 'display'...

In a truck, while driving alone...if you drift or make a mistake...you don't have 50 or so people to witness it, and interpit it in their own way...

In other words in a truck, you don't have 50 back seat drivers...

It's not a bad gig though...for part time...

And most treat you with respect...

Anyhow...in a few hours...I have to put on a totally different face...and become a baby sitter and a caretaker...

Maybe I should start my own thread about my adventures in the charter world...

Cause unlike most on here...I never stop...I never stop sharing that is...you live until you die...

So maybe I'll do that...start my own thread on charter adventures...and leave this poor chap here alone...

If you think you can walk right in the door and be successful in the bus business good frickin luck...

My ex was in it for many years. Many, many headaches to deal with... you not only have to deal with drivers and equipment but tour operators, hotels, booking agents, and the list goes on.

Those folks earn their money... it looks easy on the outside looking in...

You can be very succesful in the busing business (speaking to potential owners)...

Rule number one...just simply get a new or newer reliable bus...and you will get more business than you can handle...

As far as hotels for drivers, that's usually paid for by the custimor...where they stay, the driver stays...

Tons of money in this business...and the cargo unloads itself...

I was at an event...and caught a glimpse of this charter bus...hot...

Hot and sexy...step up...what else can I say...

Driving is in many of you alls dna...and many charter bus drivers are former truck drivers, who just go sick of the 'mess'...and wanted to add some 'class' to their experience...to be treated 'top notch' instead of 'bottom'...

Hotels, theme parks, casinos,(tips)...and more...Why not challenge yourself and step it up a notch...

Or you can continue down the same path of Pilots and Flying J's and hot dogs and corn dogs...and lonely nights at rest areas...

At least the freight on a flatbed or in a van do not talk or cause problems like on a bus.

I drove entertainer buses and would NEVER drive a seat coach, on an entertainer bus, I've got 12 people to deal with, on a seat coach, way too many...........
