You've got a great idea Matt, I would love to have an application that would alert me to loads being posted in real time while i was in transit.... For example, let's say I was traveling from Austin TX to Boston MA, it would be an invaluable tool to have in my toolbox if it notified me of all possibilities along not only the shortest route, but also the other practical routes that I might be utilizing....

Matt, your idea would be good to help drivers find a partial load to fill a trailer along the route they are already headed with the partial load on the truck. Don't see any real gain over traditional load boards for full truck loads, though. Because, at least in my experience, my route is completely up in the air until I get a load. And if my trailer is full, I'm not looking for a load on my route.

What percentage of time do you have a partial load vs. a full load? Also, would you be interested in using the system to enter in preferred routes (during specific times of the year maybe) and let the system attempt to keep you working along those routes, during those dates, before you resort to seeking out loads that go just anywhere? especially if you knew you could just sit back and let it do the work for you rather than you searching for loads? Just a thought how it could be utilized to be advantages over a traditional load board, even for full loads... it would be your automated broker.

Nope, concentrate on the partials Matt.... that's what I was hinting at.... a service that could locate partials and send a notification when one popped up along the route could be a pretty useful thing...

Until TQL sees your blinking dot 200 miles away and decides to offer you a great load at $1.50 mile when you are 50 miles from a great freight area and everything is $2.00 +.....

The above comment on concentrating on partials is a great idea. For your software it may be easier to sell it to existing loadboards ( ITS, Transcore, etc... ) and it being an add on to there package for truckers / brokers than it would be to attempt to get truckers to sign up for one more monthly bill than we already have.

Is a partial the same thing as an LTL?

Yes - LTL is another term for partial.

One of the parties needs to be blind, (the broker/shipper), as to the origin and destination of the carrier's truck. You're system might seem good from a practical standpoint but it would weaken the trucking company's ability to negotiate the terms if the broker/shipper knew the origin and destination points....
