You'll have to be the judge of that. $10,000 can be made back quick. I wouldn't want spend more than about $15,000 or so on a clean well maintained used one. I bought a brand new one $27,500 a couple of years ago just before the bottom fell out of freight and rates. I have regretted it ever since when I realized that freight had tanked so badly several months after pulling the trigger. At the time I had been doing a lot of good paying freight that required 10 years or newer and figured it would go on forever. Still wondering what I should do with it. If I don't make some kick ### money with it this spring I may get rid of it.

The stoughton is plated, vented, aluminum roof and walls and logistics post every 4 feet with etrack.

Now, by plated he means the walls are plated and the outside is aluminum?
The trailer is for $8500 - 2009 year

Also, how can I tell if a trailer has plate walls or Sheet and post?

I would imagine by calling it plated they mean it is a plate trailer. You have to look at the trailer to tell the difference. Look at the sheet and post one it had posts in it. Plate trailers do not have posts like that. They have thinner walls and do not have those half inch thick galvanized steel logistics posts. I don't know how to describe it any better. To be honest it's dry van work. Don't over think it. Either, or will most likely suit you just fine most places shipping could care less. Just some instances require a plate trailer. I prefer sheet and post because they last a lot longer and are much stronger.

[IMG][/IMG] So the stoughton is a 2008. Seemed to be in good shape except the rear doors were very rusty and not straight in the bottom causing them to not close easily.

The 2010 Utility is in excellent shape, one of the doors bottom edge has a little rust but not too much. However, on the outside walls where the cross member bars attach to the wall, there is an area with dents and cracks. Its hard to explain

Yeah that looks like where some dumb ### wheel holder drug the trailer around one of those concrete filled steel poles they put around fuel isands to keep the idiots from tearing the pumps out dragging their trailers across them. Or perhaps giving them the benefit of the doubt some idiot backed their trailer into the side of it.

If it has cracks in that aluminum rail those will need to be welded up. So it was never fixed which makes me wonder what else they let slide? I can't see them so maybe they're not that bad. If it's worse than what it looks in the pic it will need a section repair. I'd pass on it. There's a lot of equipment for sale out there.

I'd look for one that was clean, straight, and mechanically sound. Maybe I'm wrong about this but whenever I see beat up equipment it makes me think it was used and abused in every kind of way possible.

I dont think it has cracks. The aluminum part was teared as you see in the picture. The inside was fine. Unfortunately, there arent many for sale here. I dont know if purchasing 10+ year old would be a good decision.

Have you looked on this side of the border? Find something down here. Fill it up with something and haul it back
