Would he need to have arrived at the shipper before his 16 hour window closes during which he does a 3:15 sleeper? Does the new shift begin at end of 3:15 or the later 6:45 sleeper periods? Where is the new calculation point for the 13/14/16 in such scenario?

1.35 cents per mile is a grossly undervalued rate. You are likely in deficit with this rate. The average diesel fuel price was in the $1/litre range in 2016. Unless, a fuel card provided by the large carrier is being used, it is insufficient to cover all costs with a rate such as that. 2016 was also a year in which the USD-CAD exchange rate was at 1:1.34.

My trailer which was stolen 10 months ago with cargo has been found with cargo in it.
I plan on purchasing it back if the price is right because the trailer was/is in mint condition.
If there is something to watch out for, please let me know. -
Hey all,
Well, I have this 07 Volvo sitting for the past 2 years not producing any income. It will need some work and there is about 1 year of low payments left on it.
I don't know what to do with this truck. It has a small bunk. Before it was parked, I spent close to 10k on various things breaking down and now if I sell it, I will only get $5000 for it.
If you had this truck, what would you do? I cannot drive, because I am driving another truck. One option is to get it on the road asap and run it local/ within 200mile radius.
Any suggestions? -
If you are running trucks profitably and can run that one profitably, then put it on the road. If you are going to put it on the road for the $37 per hour or whatever it was previously and pay someone to drive it... you are losing money every hour it is "working" and you would be further ahead to cut your losses and just sell it.
You want to make money in the Toronto area locally with dry vans? If you have maybe 3 or 4 of them, preferably tri-axles... there is lots of work locally, but often they require drop trailers for 24-48 hours. They only want to pay $300-400 per load, but there is hardly any miles to do it and you are in your own bed every night. You can bang off 3 or 4 per day. The caveat is you need to be able to leave your trailers here and there. I have been turning down tons of this work. I am not near Toronto and the idea of leaving equipment scattered here and there isn't really my idea of how to do trucking. I am paranoid of theft, especially in the larger cities. If you have some older vans and an old truck, you could make a go of it. -
Thanks for the reply.
3-4 loads a day which is about 2 round trips? How is these loads are quoted, if you are going into a dead area. I now have 2 trailer, and I have a lady who keeps one truck busy on Power only for Montreal and sometimes I have more trailers then spots to park because she lets me keep them for up to 7days (I usually return them by the end of the week or before)
Also, the best way to find this type of work is from loadboard? -
It's all local to Toronto.... they are all flat rate and you drop your trailer at the delivery for 24-48 hours. The load board is a good place to look. If you twig on to one of these operations there is plenty of work...
-
I did a few NFI loads to Lowes from QC, they would keep the trailer for up to 10 days.
-
Well, back to the drawing board.. -
They pay after 3 days @35/day.
You ever thought about expanding?
