We never know what the core issue is in your threads. It changes every post. Judging by the OP, the core issue is you got flipped off.

No. They won't usually back up unless you force them to back up by pulling in front of them.

    Wrong.

The core issue is the last two questions in the OP.

    Yes.

    See above.

Keep bullying your way into that turn, and you'll find that first car now has fifteen cars behind them, and now you have fifteen cars behind you, and now the intersection is gridlocked. If you can't make the right hand turn, then go straight, turn around, and make the left.

With 1,000,000 incident-free miles, you should know this.

I'd say you're in the wrong 100% if the car was already stopped there. Its on you to make sure the road you're turning onto is clear. Its not on the car to backup out of your way. Never backup in traffic.

Here is the core issue: in the situation in the drawing in the OP, should I have stopped my truck and waited on Elm Street until Oak street was clear, or did I do right by pulling in front of the yellow car and expecting the yellow car to back up?

A few seconds after I made the turn, I thought I had done right. Looking back at it now with more time to think about it, i think maybe I should have stopped on Elm street and not made the right hand turn until Oak street was clear.

Yeah. With the benefit of hindsight, I think you are probably right.

I just bullied my way through the intersection lol.

Thank you for finally addressing the core issue of the thread.

And i would say I have around 1.3 million accident free miles, not 1.0 million.

I even blew the air horn at the driver of the yellow car, even though she didn't do anything wrong lol
