i ain't got the time to do a 100% check on the value of that particular truck you're all butt hurt about, but THIS ONE is a year older and OVER a million miles, and they want $42,000

so (to me) the guy that bought that one at auction? sold it for close to or at BOOK VALUE..

you would not have been ripped off, you just didn't jump at the auction price.

The guy also took a gamble buying it at auction, sometimes they pay off, and sometimes they cost, if he intends to stay in business he has to capitalize on the ones that pays off. I doubt he ties his money up, just to make someone a screaming deal on a truck, they could have bid on themselves, if they had the means to do so.

Why dont you use yr skills and connections and buy same truck for 24k instead of complaining how much money someone else made literally doing nothing per your complaint . I guess he is smarter than you . Its your responsibility to check if he is telling you the truth and what is the condition of the truck and if its worth that money he is asking .

If $3 per mile enough for you to start your truck and do the work why would you care if broker got paid even more doing nothing ( per you ) compared to you . He has skills to get this load at his price compared to you whinning how people make money ...
I would use the broker again if $3 per mile is my goal

Nope if the seller didn’t know the market value and sold too cheap it’s his own fault.

I think if dealer sold this truck to rArA for 25k , he would still post his purchase complaining how stupid seller is and how great of a deal he got :)

I've got 2 trucks in my hood going for $15G each.

I'll buy em and sell them to anyone for $100G each.

That's about the going rate for older beatup over the hill trucks in my hood. And these trucks are in much nicer shape. With looks to die for.
