Not unusual at all, for the dealer to up the rate on them.
When I first test drove my international, it was set at 430 and governed at 1600..
When I came back the salesman ask how I liked it, I told him I would not have it, it shuts down at 1600, and nothing you can do makes it go any faster. This was my first electronic truck.
He said we can fix that easy enough, in fact the guy is on the lot right now resetting ecms, so I told him fix it and then we will test drive it. lol

 

It makes no difference if he gave $5 or $50,000 for the truck, it’s either worth what his is asking or it’s not. What he paid for the truck is irrelevant.

 

Also not unusual for a dealer to advertise it to be a higher hp rating than it actually is...
I have seen this game played before.

 

They are all OO spec, 500 to 550 hp with knee deep rubber and brakes at the dealer.

 

So now his profit is trivial? How do you know what he has in it? Just paying somebody to drive it home is 700 dollars. Even cheap chinese tires aren't all that cheap. How long has he had it sitting there, how much longer do you think it'll be there? I'd like to know which auction he got that for at that steal of a price.

 

Not if the broker finds out you're trying to take one of his money runs you ain't.

Guy can ask whatever he wants for it. Free market.

 

I would imagine that is true enough, but in all reality, since all 475's are upratable just through the ecm, with no parts needed, it kind of is a 550 just turned down. lol
