    It’s actually the Hendrickson ULTRAA-K that doesn’t require shocks. Look up Hendrickson ZMD.

    You must have been running fully loaded then. That’s the only time you have a similar spring rate between spring and air suspensions. Anything less than fully loaded and air ride crushes spring ride in ride quality. The spring rate of an air suspension is controlled by the height control valve. The height control valve maintains the deck height. The heavier the load, the higher the air spring pressure. Spring rate is constant on a spring ride trailer. That means stiff ride always.

    “Less of a chance for rollover”....WRONG.

    On an air ride, the rigidly mounted axle to the trailing arm beams, along with the stiffness of the pivot bushings is just as stiff, if not stiffer, in a rollover condition than a spring suspension. Many people wrongly assume the air springs are resisting the roll...they aren’t.
