I'm REALLY hoping to get on with a company that will allow a decent size inverter, so hopefully I will be getting a 120v fridge. I'll have to head over to there website thanks.

I will be driving for Schneider soon and will have to get a new refrigerator as you cant eat out every day and still have money for bills at home. I really don't know what size will fit in a company truck but I am sure someone here does. I don't need a freezer. I also don't want to buy from a truck stop as they charge too much!. I believe the model I will need will have to be 12 volts as well as 110. I don't want to spend too much on this. any suggestions as to models that work well at a reasonable price would be appreciated!. I do not want those igloo type coolers I want one with a real compressor.

the size and model will depend on what truck you get as in how wide the cabnites are. If you get a truck with an apu and a power inverter you are set to buy a cheapy from wally world. but if you are not so lucky you get to spend the big bucks on a 12 volt fridge. Engel is the main company that comes to mind.

What you are looking for is a Waeco CF-35DC. Its a portable refrigerator, with a compressor and thermostat ... just what you have asked for. It has a 33 quart capacity, low voltage shut-off, and plugs right into the cigarette lighter outlet. Temperature control from 50F - 0F. It is one of our most popular refrigerators.

Yep, all you have to do is a search. These are expensive but totally reliable in all temperatures. You could leave it in your truck on a 100 degree day with the engine off and it would still keep your stuff ice cold. I have an Edgestar and it works as a freezer or refrigerator and will plug in the cigarrete lighter or 120v regular plug.

If the carrier will allow an inverter of at least 1000 watts you can go to Lowe's and buy a Frigidaire mini upper lower two door fridge/freezer.It will fit behind the either seat with the cabinet removed in both Freightliner Columbia/Century or any Volvo 610-780.
I know because this is what I have been using for the past 10 years.
The Lowe's model is my 2nd one in that time frame,I did upgrade to a 1500 watt inverter but that was to install a toaster oven as well.
The cost is about $99-$130 depending on which model you get as they stock two types.
