    Hi guys,
So I am looking for volvo and I dont have to much experience with newer. I sold my 2007 d12 with auto trans in march and since then was company driver.
I was thinking about 2014-2015 d13 manual or auto with around 400k on miles.
I know that some of them have injector cups issues and air compressor failure.
Any advice what to buy and what to avoid? Also what is necessary to change Asap?
    Thank’s

As long as you get one that’s still under factory warranty and you get it checked out by an independent mechanic and pull a rig dig you should be fine. We bought ours new and have been in the shop briefly a couple of times with DEF issues but overall we love the truck.

The 2016's might be a better choice.

D12 is the desired engine for Volvo. Only thing is the cup issues can be pricey.

I don’t know anymore,I am driving last few months 2016 d13 and all of them in fleet got that emissions deleted and air compressor issues down the road.
From emissions there was problem with ecm and transmission. One that I drive now running good but start to have issue with starting the engine . All of them under 500k.
I start thinking about getting manual 2006-2007 and fixing what is needed down the road.

You'll pay now or later buying new or old. I have a 15 and have had basically no issues whatsoever. Truck had two injectors done under warranty before I owned it. Running fine at 725k.

I have never heard of an air compressor issue on a Volvo truck. Can you be more specific?

Half of the fleet get stuck on the road with air compressor failure right after 250k miles with bill of 5.ooo$ (towing, repair)
Also I heard the same thing from other owners. Also new 2019 with around 100k miles had issue with coolant(something get stuck in the system and destroy(not covered by Volvo). 2019 is really smooth ride for driver...

I've heard of belt tensioner problems on the d13 but none on the air compressor. Turbo problems?
