Leaking is not issue because of roof type but just happening with trailer. But would never buy another fiberglass roof trailer. Limits produce loads.
utility and Wabash are best values on used trailers. -
Great Dane better quality. Only log posts on 16" center you need this for strapping and decking. Post and sheet trailer are much stronger and have a much longer life. Plastic liner panels NO plywood liner on walls. Aluminum roof with two plywood runners to protect the from dumb HI LO drivers. You CAN NOT haul produce with fiberglass roof. Big swing door vents front and back to haul produce. Stainless steel rear frame com posit doors. On wish list wide singles air inflate system and air foil. This a Great Dane P101 trailer without some of the extras. There is no better middle of road trailer for a single owner operator. Jim Hawk has these and some have very fancy ones with all the goodies. Oh if wondering about the produce onions, potato, melons, flowers, are name a few that pay very well. Good luck

How important is the inside width?

That's why the call it Great Dane P101. almost every trailer can load pallets side ways. I have composit rubs rails which is 3/4 each or 1 1/2 total never lost a load. Of never buy a 96" wide trailer.
