I’m not sure what brand, my old boss bought them from a company in Bonners Ferry ID. Throw those on and you were going to go just about anywhere you wanted to go.

I always found it better and usually safer to get over anytime it's open, because if it closes you have everybody piled up in the truckstops, and then when the road reopens it becomes a real circus with everybody panicked to get going.

I've almost bought a set like that a couple times. But the only place I chain is Colorado, and they've gotten as bad as California about throwing up the chain law unnecessarily. I'd hate to wear out those expensive chains on wet/slushy pavement!God prefers Diesels, larry2903, gekko1323 and 6 others Thank this.

The most expensive chains sold, are a frigging bargain, compared to the alternatives of not having them.
I order mine every summer, when demand is lower.
This year wasn't a big order, still had lots of good ones left over, so it was only a $72,000 order.
I consider that cheap, and feel like I got off easy.
If I had to cut costs, it would not be on chains. -
i experimented last year with a set of cables and they worked decent for what they were, even took them offroad to jobsites and on haul roads that were all snow and ice and managed to get it done... i really dont think you need chains if just running interstate roads.. get a set of cables and call it a day... if running off road ur gonna want those studded ones because the only thing thats gonna stop you with those is the ability of your truck to push you thru the ####... 3 railers are better because if you spin out you can spin it down to pavement and get traction where as with singles, that inside tire is not ever gonna get to pavement..and ur gonna just spin... i would just go with a basic set of 3 railers if you plan to be running thru the #### everyday .. if just everyonce in awhile, a set of cables will do just fine.

Per your above suggestion...if you use cables, instead of chains--how much faster (if any) can you drive?

So you would roll with cables on 84 and Snoqualmie?MartinFromBC and Oxbow Thank this.

Dry pavement just rolls the crossers out of Tryggs. They’re the #### on hardpack or ice, but you’re better off with v-bars on mixed surfaces. California was always ridiculous with the chain law. They’d chain you up when it snowed in Idaho.Hammer166, MartinFromBC, InTooDeep and 2 others Thank this.

Boy you hit that nail on the head, I live on the western slope and dread winter now just because they don’t know when to put up or take down the chain laws anymore. Colorado used to be much better about that.Hammer166 and MartinFromBC Thank this.
