I'm just thinking of all the $$$ burnt in that decision and crying. If you love W9s, man run you a W9. If you love 389s, then run you a 389. If you like the 579, then run that too. Please, though don't buy something you don't love to turn around months later and have to dump it. I hope he got the amount he needed to get out clean and setup again with a W9.

He pulls a bottle all year, and he’s been at it long enough there’s not much debt involved. He sold it to a company in OK that also pulls bottles, and they gave him $185k for it with the PTO and pump on it so they could put it to work right away.

Glad to hear he could walk away from that decision. I hope he got back into a W9 that he liked.

Lol I always enjoy how people so quickly assume it’s the engineer. I was working for one of the fleets Peterbilt consulted on the dash and yes engineering developed what marketing wanted to push out to the fleets.

Why are they doing this to the 389, simple inventory and cost. By changing over they don’t have to keep the electronics modules for the classic gages, which of course would go up in price as the suppliers volumes would greatly decrease.

Peterbilt saw a chance to enhance profits and jumped at it, it sucks but honestly the only way to get a real owner operator truck is to customize one yourself, all major manufacturers care about are fleet sales and I’m sure the fleets will love the new dash...sadly most of the current generation of drivers would never look at auxiliary gages anyway...

Not sure if I like the teal frame on the 389 but nothing a few cans of oriental blue couldn't solve.

That sucks. I wish the old dash with gauges were still an option.

Or the environmental impact of mining for materials and then recycling that toxic crap. Ought to be a real #### show brewing. Just like this pig piss on the trucks now. After they forced this crap now they find out it’s horrible. BUNCH OF EDUCATED IDIOTS
