I remember the whole thing very well. I was a ups driver with a DHL terminal on my route at that time. They took all of our work because their ground times were untouchable....mainly because they were charging ground rates and sending everything air. They lost 60 billion dollars before they shut the doors on ground service.

Wish it wasn’t so hard to get on with Old Dominion..never hiring here in Atlanta.FlaSwampRat Thanks this.

Keep trying. Probably gotta wait for someone to retire, that's the way it is here in Tampa. They are never hiring because they have a solid crew that doesn't seem to be going anywhere.DuvalKid Thanks this.

Check out SAIA Freight

I was actually checking these guys out. Wife wants me to come off OTR and go local but I’m still trying to get Montana off my bucket list!lolEddiec Thanks this.

AAA Cooper is good too.
FedEx freight is local, and they pay well, but they're kinda dicks.
Southeastern Motor Freight is a good one as well.
And XPO, formally ConWay.
All are good, pay well, good bennies and are local.
Good luckDuvalKid and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
Get your one year, and go to Estes then.

A lot of those companies won't require a year, depending on how bad they need drivers. But you will have to work the dock as a 'casual '. But at $25 an hour, you can work through it.
I left off RL Carriers.
They're pretty much all the same. -
Lol, I have over one year. I have approximately one year and 9 months thus far. I am with a staffing agency right now because I don't want to keep job-hopping, but the last assignment didn't work out so they have me sitting now. I was waiting until Old Dominion put a job posting up because that is the company I truly want to be with. I have my heart set on that company and hellbent on wearing that green shirt lol.FlaSwampRat Thanks this.

The only thing turning me off of SAIA is the driver-facing cameras. Granted, I drive competent and with sense, but I just don't like the idea of having a camera on me unless I'm pursuing a career that requires one (ex. acting, showbiz).mjd4277 and FlaSwampRat Thank this.
