There’s no such thing as recap hours, it’s their way of falsifying logs and getting away with fancy explanation. When driver runs out of his 70 total hours he has to restart by law, what BZ express does is rolling back your clock on hours you could have driven but was off duty instead. This is pure forgery of legal documents and should be reported to FMCSA for running hot

You might want to learn the hos laws before commenting next time.
Yes recaps are legal, and for that matter a valid strategy since before ther 34 reset was even a thing.Last edited: Aug 25, 2023

This company runs hot, they falsify logbooks and make their drivers go over limit hours. Worked there and met some of the biggest idiots in the industry. You are blamed for anything that goes wrong, you are not a human being. The owner and his wife are scumbags, the dumb sheet head in the shop doesn’t know anything and makes excuses all the time and lies. Never take your truck there or lease a truck unless you want to go down a rabbit hole and fail because these people don’t belong in this industry.

Here is a hint, fmcsa 395 deals with hos
You are right the word recap doesn't appear in the regs. However in the trucking industry recap means rolling hours over for the 7rh, 8th, 9th, etc. days.
So no, you can't run more than 70 hours in 8 days. You can however run 30 days in a row without a reset, which, btw, is a word not in the hos regulations either.
If you want to learn I'll be happy to teach, if you want to insult however I'll just report you and move on with life.
P.S. I have never heard of said company so have zero opinion of them.snowlauncher, Opus, Lonesome and 1 other person Thank this. -
