Because apps can do all that . And they don’t cost 129 dollars with a range of two miles . Hollering for yard sticks where Bears weren’t there anymore was always silly . Although Pinky in Barstow was hilarious. Some guys in my outfit with bid trucks still have them but they look real dusty

 

2 mi!! Lol it would be tossed if my radio only got 2 mi...99% the range issue is antenna related...

Base stations do it to each other anyways..
I dont have a base station and do just fine with my tuned 955 and 7ft skip shooter..I have seen 30ish mi on a normal day and skip is a whole different monster....Sure i would like 500-700 watts but to much extra work,i rather put that $ and time in my radio and antenna
