Welcome to the industry. Layovers are part of the job, even as a company driver. -
With less than 1 year experience I can see you are a perfect judge on what is a "horrible company" and what is not.
LMMFAO at youTHBatMan8 Thanks this. -
And just who forced you to become a truck driver? -
As I read it, ..............................
1. Stroke
2. Hospital stay
3. Doctor signed off on the medical card.
4. Then, "A couple years later"........................................
How do you figure "that would mean a second Dr. to sign off the medical card"?
Am I missin' somethin' here?

Is it your contention that CRE Truth isn't capable of recognizing a "horrible company"?
Do you disagree that C.R. England is a horrible company?
Do you consider yourself to be a "perfect judge"?
Do you customarily shoot the messenger and ignore the message?
Do the disproportionately large number of negative comments about C.R.E. lead you to believe that there's a vast conspiracy against C.R.E. being perpetrated by some disgruntled former employee in an effort to discredit the Sons-0-Chester for no good reason?
It's said that "He who laughs last, laughs best". However, I'll contain my laughter until you've provided your explanation(s)/answer(s) before I ROFLMButtoxOff, --- just to be fair. I know how foolish it looks for a person to laugh at another person when another person is right, even if another person has less than a year's experience in the Big truck truckin' industry.
Right is right regardless of experience.
HaiL!
There are some folks with ten, or more, years of experience who still don't know what's right or wrong. That someone with a year or less experience recognizes the scandalous business practices of a company, like C.R.E. seems to indicate that CRE Truth is able to see past the bovine excrement spread by the powers that be C.R.E. --- and/or it's becoming more obvious, even to the inexperienced, that the Sons-0-Chester are horribly heartless and posses insatiable greed.
As with respect, reputation is earned.
And, IMO, C.R. England has earned their reputation.
Respect?
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I 'spose the Sons-0-Chester receive as much respect in return as they give their Big truck truck drivers. No doubt that's why the Sons-0-Chester feel the necessity for armed guards, bullet-proof glass and metal detectors in the offices where an Open Door Policy exists only at exits, and then only when escorted by armed guard(s) ushering another dud driver with poor work ethics through the revolvin' exit door, --- marked
One Way Only
Do Not Attempt To Re-Enter.
Anyone who manages to stick it out for a year at C.R.E. will have earned my respect.

I leased a truck for 6 months. I drove a average of 3,000 miles a week and brought home 400-500 a week as a solo IC. Now as a company driver, I average the same amount of miles and bring home 600-900 a week. I'm actually happy with where I'm at and I plan to stick it out with CRE for a few more years.
Here's a thought:
Instead of parking at a truck stop complaining about low miles, bug your DM for a load. My DM knows that if I don't have a reload within 10 hours of dropping off a previous load, I'm going to blow up his inbox until I do get a load. -
AfterShock Thanks this.
