Whats up Belt loop? I too am going to school in the month of June in Salt Lake City for CR England. I have heard al ot of bad things about them and some good. What I understand is that every situation is what YOU make it. I just have to keep in my mind the reason WHY I'm doing this: To try to take care of my family with whatever money they give me and after 6 months, the sky is the limit for my driving career. I encourage you to think the same way even though I know you are optimistic by reading what you have typed. Lets do it brother!!! Keep Heads high!!! I don't know if you wanna continue in trucking after CR Eng. ,but for me, after six months of trucking training from these guys. I will shoot to be a Greyhound driver which even at this time need 600 people to fill positions and paying 25 dollars an hour. Well, God bless and shoot for the stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

for cr england they cram that lease down your throat. when i was there most the lease operators i talked with got enough miles to pay the truck payment but nothing else. had several tell me they were given 600 mile loads and had to sit for a day or two on it. one guy even turned his truck in owing 1000 still on the lease. most i talked to were running red within the first month or so. then maybe broke even by the end of the lease. only a few did well. and the company drivers are treated worse. they have loads taken off em for the trainers. that is my experience and observations Also i went to the refresher course since i hadnt driven for years. you did this if you hadnt driven for at least months. It was a joke i saw several people pass that couldnt even shift the truck. Good luck i say no cr england

This sounds bad, but is half true. I read stuff like this and get mad when rooks want to know whats up and read mis-leading info. I mean it starts half true. the upgrade class to solo is not a mandatory 4 hour leasing class, it is a class that goes over logs, leasing, insurance, etc and also to make sure you got signed off by your trainer, safety and road test. They do spend some time on HOW leasing works but it's for those who WANT to lease and already know that they are. They don't put you in different rooms (lease here or no lease here) it's one class. When you leave the class YOU make the choice to go company or lease.

First hand "so called" information is still, and always will be, as it seems, how "THAT" person perceives it. Everything is heresay.

My husband did not get ANY hometime his first 8 months with CR England. Just something to consider. Also, when you first start out with them, the income is VERY minimal.

If he got "0" hometime within the first 8 months, i'm sorry to say, that is NOT a fault of CRE but his own choice. And even ANY other driver here or anywhere will tell you that NO COMPANY will force you to be out that long. With CRE, the MAX they will TRY to keep you in the beginning is 3 months, if he didn't open his mouth to say I want to go home, or even after the 4th month past, he could have demanded to get hometime and would have gotten it. That was choice.

Once again, as I stress, I wish people post actual fact, not personal opinions. That is the most absurd quote to tell rooks who are looking to go to a company. This is not a post to bash you, but come on now.

I must say say, most of my posts seem like i'm defending CRE, but I am not. Tell it like it actually is and I will agree or dis-agree with what it is. If you say:

"I leased a truck and 2 days later it broke down and they left me stranded 2000 miles from home telling me I need to fix it out of my pocket and figure it out myself"

That I would 100% agree to, but the fact they are leaving out other details would make it sound bad also. If you said the same thing but threw in this manner:

"I leased a truck and 2 days later it broke down and left me stranded 2000 miles from home, they fixed it and I was on my way!"

    This is also, 100% true.

The actual run down is: They will tow your truck, they will pay for it to get fixed, AS A LOAN, they will do this upfront and then you would be required to pay it back, and if you don't run hard after that then expect 0 to negative paychecks for the next 2 months. So as you see, both lines say different things, one says the company is great and the other says the company is crap. The actual answer as you see, is in between. If your going to post a note, post the ENTIRE FACT not a piece of it mixed in with your opinion.

Why do I care? because I once based my decision on some of these dumb answers/quotes on this forum. understand, rooks are coming with no knowledge and your messing up peoples lifes with mis-information that they are counting on you exp. drivers to give them. Because you or me got screwed, does NOT mean the next person will, and vice versa...

One thing you will never see is me posting information/advice about any other company because I have never been to any other company. So it boggles my mind when I see multiple comments about how bad or how good a company is from guys in 3, 4 and 5 different trucking companies forum. I have seen posts from one guy who has been with the same LOCAL company for years and years on end, but posts in multiple forums about how bad other companies are.. WTF? Why? But guess what, he's a 20yr trucker and me a never had a cdl before will listen. You see, not good.

But I guess in this day and age, more people would rather be grumpy and help others fail than help someone to do better than them. sad...

If you are going or planning on going to CRE, you know what, ask "ME" and I will tell you, and you just might not like what I have to say, but it would be fact.

If you are pissed or mad at the company, vent in the lounge or something, but if your under a forum where people are asking for ACTUAL FACTS, then post the facts not opinions. Some people need to feed their families, and you never know that possibly one of your crappy "your pissed off" comments may have led to someone else making a wrong decision and putting their families in jeopardy.

From what I have heard and read out of Dan England's mouth and his desires with the ATA, He's the last SOB I'd even THINK about working for. THAT ####### is doing all he can to lobby the feds for as many regs making our jobs that much harder and more and more in favor of the very CDL mills that are ruining this business.
