These fleece deals are nothing but...

A truck rental...have ever noticed..NONE of the trucks for any of these lease ops trucks from anyone of these co's say LEASED on them...

    You want to know why??.........

You're renting them to be a glorified company driver paying the carrier to work for them instead of them paying you to work for them!

The fuel cap idea is an absolute scam. And can anybody verify if their truck insurance really is as expensive as what is quoted on the website?

First, even though they scare you into trying to stay, you can get your BIPD from an outside insurance carrier.

As for the optimizer, it's not really a scam. It's just horribly run. The problem with something horrible run is that there's ways a driver can take advantage of it. In a big way.

As for the "Leased To" on the trucks, when I was there, Arizona apparently raised a big stink over it and started issuing fines to CRE lease trucks, so they started bringing all the trucks back and put "OPERATED BY" on them instead.

Why did AZ make a big fuss about the "Leased to" on the tractors? I remember about two years ago when they stop dispatched me in the slc yard to get that England sticker changed to "Operated By."

it has to do with the way the state law is wrote for example
    Owner-Operators
Owner-operators who lease their vehicles may register in either of two ways: Apportioned Registration Manual, 99-0149 R05/10 Page 4
    1. The owner-operator may be the registrant. The vehicles will be titled and registered in the name of
the owner-operator. The owner-operator will be responsible for registration of the vehicles and for
establishing and maintaining records required of proportionally registered fleets. –or–
    2. The carrier (lessee) may be the registrant. The vehicles will be registered in the name of both the
carrier as lessee and the owner-operator as lessor. The carrier will be responsible for registration of the
vehicles and for establishing and maintaining records required of proportionally registered fleet
basicly if it says lease by on your truck you have to get your own base plate isurance and all the other head-aches that the company provides hope this helps

I guess that's why all the new "lease" tractors do not have 'CR England' all over them. They just have that operated by on them.
