C1 Training in Fort Worth, TX

    I haven't wasted anything really because I have to pay for all the written tests and my CDL with the companies that will train me anyways. I'm just ahead of the game. To my understanding without OTR I am nothing and I will have to go through there training like I don't even have a CDL to be hired on. Like with Werner I have to have training through a driving school like C1 or at least 2 months OTR experience. I just don't want to get stuck paying for training while being stuck in a contract. I will do a contract for up to one year as long as I don't have to pay on a training loan and they will not come after me for the training loan if I went to work for someone else after a year. I read all these horror stories how guys will quit to work for another company and the company they left reported them to DAC as abandoning there truck after quitting even try sending them a bill for training even after they finished there contract. The only reason they put u on a contract is so you don't walk way from them right after you finish there training.

    Basically that is the contract. 1. You work for them a year or for X amount of months. 2. You pay them in increments/payments on the school loan amount. 3. If you leave early (quit), or get fired, then you owe them an amount for the contract being broken. Pretty simple.

    Paying for the written tests are included in the cost of your cdl schooling. The "final exam" of a cdl school is the road test at the DPS.

    FFE will hire you and put you through their training and their training facility is in the D/FW area.

    Not with Stevens it's not. You have to pay for the tests yourself, including another $100 for Stevens to do the back ground check that you have to pay for up front on your first day there or they make you leave. If you don't have the money for the hotel or tests Steven will loan it to you with interest. I have already spoken with them on all this many times and finally got the truth how much everything cost. Its $4200 just for the training alone, that doesnt include the hotel, and written tests for CDL permit then you pay for out of pocket unless you have them add it to the loan. they are about $1000 more than anyone else i spoke with. To me it don't sound right when a company says they will train for free as long as I stay on a contract with them but I am having money taken from my check for the training. That's not free.

    About 3 months ago when I started looking into getting a CDL FFE was the first one I was going to go with, then I started doing a lot of reviews on FFE, Stevens, etc and FFE had the worst reviews on there trainers. Stevens has the best reviews but they are the most $$$$ for training and they take money from u to pay it back. So far Stevens is the only one that I have talked to that u pay the loan back while on a 3 year contract with them. Everyone else don't take money from your check unless u quit before your contract is up. Who did u all have training with and how did you feel about there training?

    If you pay upfront, if you quit or whatever, you wont have the school after you but you still have to pay off the loan if you borrowed from somewhere else.

    I graduated from C1-Ft. Worth on Jan 18 and was very pleased with the training provided. I think their trainers are top shelf. I also obtained my Class A CDL, before starting with C1. Having your CDL will not shorten your training period with C1. It will get you more behind the wheel time, though. Will everyone else was studying for or taking their tests, I was out driving. I start with PAM on the 28th. I felt that what PAM was offering the best choice for me. I've read plenty of horror stories about PAM, Stevens (just to name a couple) and my take is that there is good and bad with all of them. You just have to make the best of the situation you're in.     I'm going through Raider Express now they use Continental Training School. Seeing I got my CDL on my own the training is only $900 and $23.02 interest. No other hidden fees. Very very good instructors.
