I just bought another ecm to test whether it is ecm related. I will update everyone on the results. I figure I will have a test ecm for future use if it doesn't resolve itself.

My 05 BXS has same issue and have pinned it down to the ignition switch. I pulled panel and while truck was running it started acting up so I knew I was in correct area. But for my confidence in repair I wiggled wire that powers acc and truck jump on and off. Replaced and boom, she’s a runner.

Update to my previous thread. Don't buy another ecm. My truck still shutting off.

I wanted to drop back in and let everyone know I did find the problem that was causing all the shutdown and lose of power on my 07 379 pete. Im positive that this has fixed my issue for good. Been running truck for about 1 year now with no more issues. My specific problem was truck would loose power inside the cab and sometimes shut off completely and other time lose all power and act like it was going to shut off and would regain power. Truck might be fine for a couple 3 or 4 days or it might start doing it everyday. There was no ryhme or reason.
Solution:
There is a small square black box mounted on the firewall of the truck. It is a simple jumper box for the wires that power the inside of the cab. The wires should be red. This box can be taken apart and cleaned. My specific problem was mine had a lot of dirt and corrosion on the inside that couldn't be seen without taking it apart. There is also a large flat 2 hole fuse in there and mine was bad for sure. Picture below. Hope this helps. I know this is a common and I could never find a solution online. This was an ongoing issue for 2 years and had multilple mechanics look at it and could never find the problem. Im pretty sure kenworths with cat engines probably have this same issue if the wiring setup is the same. I hope this helps everyone that has came in contact with this problem. Give some likes so I know if helped at least one person.
Thanks
Stay Puft Thanks this. -
Protip: the ECM should always be the absolute last thing you should point a finger at. Its probably one of the most reliable parts on a vehicle. Not saying they don't ever fail but 99.99% of the time the problem is something else.
