When you get the soft washers use a hard washer on top of the soft ones. Oh, and mic the new spacer plate for uniform thickness. Even though it is new does not mean it is right. I have had to dig through 5 of them (brand new) to find one that is flat on a rebuild before.

You need to cut it to get it right. Also make sure whoever you chose is competent, not a job for the average mechanic, just my $0.02...

More consistent with CAT's resin washers, but still low. 1,2,5 & 6 measure .002. 3 & 4 measure .003. Replacing the new spacer plate with the thinner version offered by CAT. .003 thinner, which will give me protrusion of .005 & .006.
For anyone else dealing with a similar job, the part # for the washers is 7k-1977 and the thinner spacer plate is part #138-9381. My local CAT counter guy insisted that these items didn't exist. They do.Last edited: Feb 3, 2016

Spacerplate is good. Dont use the thinner shims .030.is the as thin as I would go. Cut counter bore for the .032 or .030 shims.Oxbow Thanks this.
