Thanks, has anyone out there swapped their MBN to a 600hp 7CZ with some input? Mine was 525 and I had it cut back to 475. I miss the power but could live without it as long as economy improved with 6NZ. I was getting 5.8mpg with the 525 flash (done in '06) the truck had when I bought it. I should have left well enough alone. I hate to spend $500 on a possibly updated 525 MBN file with no idea what the results would be..

Sounds like bad fuel numbers, I have installed 550 hp with good numbers to get 550 hp to the ground on the dyno.

Where is the drivetrain loss? What other upgrades were done to get that much power to the ground or is it in just having the trims and codes set right? Don't take this the wrong way - I'd like to believe but I'd have to see it. I had my truck dynoed after the 475 flash and it was putting 421 to the ground. I don't want to spend a lot of money on this - just the ECM flash and that's it.

I believe the 550 or 600 6NZ file in a MBN puts out more than 550 or 600hp. That's where the 600 program gets 600 to the ground. I've heard the same from a 550 Acert with the 625 program because of the difference in compression ratio from a factory 475/550 to a factory 625. This is just what I've gathered from my reading.:dontknow:

DDS, doesnt my ecm have a 7CZ 600 file in it? it pulls quite well. 3.90 w/ 24.5's 18spd 46 rears. at 140'000lb I am a gear to a gear and a half higher than a 550 isx on a long hill. that is w/ the stock turbo wastegate functional. Makes about 35psi (hard to tell w/ my bouncy KW gauge) wastegate unhooked make about 40 psi and 150deg cooler on the exhaust but I dont want to push my luck w/ the little stock turbo so I leave it hooked up. And the mileage is considerably better if i keep my foot off the firewall haha. Eventually a cam change and a turbo I think will complete my package.

Yes,yours has the 7cz 600hp file. The cam and a turbo will make a big difference.

mostly make it more efficient will it not or will i see a power gain? in your honest opinion do you think i will be compromising reliability w/ doing the turbo and cam as well?

We are also looking at an 04 379 with a c15 bridge engine. It only has 388k miles on it. Any other input on this engine would be great. What are the benefits to reflashing it to a 6nz program? Better mpgs and performance?
