I'm about 5 hrs from home and keep getting a fuel filter reading of around 3 at idle, will gradually go up until around 5 the more gears I grab, started fumbling a little bit like it was starving for fuel, if I let off the gas for a second it will go back around 3, I changed both fuel filters and hot soaked the injectors with seafoam (ran a little nicer after seafoam but same restriction numbers) any help at all would be greatly appreciated not throwing any flash codes

The lower of the 2 fuel filters was about half full when I pulled it off too, c15 cat acert 2007 mxs

Your numbers seem to be normal. I wonder if you got fuel lines before the filters collapsing or something inside your tanks blocking the pickup tube. When you installed the primary filter along the frame rail did you remember the o/ring that goes on the threads?Cat sdp Thanks this.

would suggest 2 possible causes.
1. your fuel hoses or braking up before the filter plugging the filter, housing and check valves with debris.
2. you have a minor air leak on the suction side of the transfer pump. -
What they said plus check the vents on tanks to see if plugged with debri. Or you may have got bad fuel.

My 2000 W900L with a 3406e 2ws, 475hp cutoff on me a couple days ago. It started while I was idling in the yard. Started running rough all of a sudden. Took the fuel filter off, it was half full. But had a lot of air pressure built up. Put new filter on it, ran fine. Drove it around the block, it started driving a little rough. Then it shut off. Pulled the the filter again, it was half full. I primed it, started it back up. Drove it back home. Haven’t had that issue again. But it concerns me, because something obviously caused it to do that. Just want to get opinions on where to start.

Since your issue seems to be intermittent and in addition to what has already been mentioned, you may have an obstruction floating around in your tank, like the foil seal off a bottle of Howes for example.

Thank you. I also noticed the truck was sitting on a hard angle, with low fuel in it. Maybe it sucked some air in the system. It’s running smooth this morning. But thanks again for the fast reply!Oxbow Thanks this.
