I use Parker 213 series hose (stratoflex) hose with reusable ends. That way, I can route the hose exactly the way I want them. Cut em square, blow them out, and pressure test them.

    SAR and Oxbow Thank this.

The reusable ends (I call them Aeroquip), have the insert that should help prevent any flaps from obstructing the flow like @superhauler was talking about I would think.

I like your idea about getting a length of hose and custom cutting it to fit.

Sorry OP, didn't mean to hijack your thread.

    SAR and spsauerland Thank this.

The 213 hose I use uses the 21 series field serviceable ends like Cat uses on their field serviceable hoses.

Oh, the ones that have a collar pressed over the fitting? You must have a press then?

    SAR Thanks this.

Scratch that @spsauerland , I looked them up under Parker hoses and see the fittings. Those are the same type that I was originally thinking of.

    Thanks!

    SAR and spsauerland Thank this.

You still have to be careful with those fittings as well. They can still cut the rubber and cause a flap. Just blow through both ways when done to be sure.

Cat sdp, SAR, Oxbow and 1 other person Thank this.

I always lube the fittings taper well with motor oil and the threads and they tighten nice. Newer Paccar is plastic hose that is preformed with quick connect fittings. You can steel order cloth/wire braided hose put pay a significant up charge.

pushbroom, Cat sdp and SAR Thank this.

Well, since the original ones have lasted for 29 years, it probably pays to use that type again. They will out live me this way!

pushbroom, SAR and spsauerland Thank this.

@Oxbow guess what job I ended up with today... Making new fuel hoses. Here is picture of how I pressure test them. KIMG1676.JPG
