I recently rebuilt my 6nz and decided to try the marine cam from highway heavy parts I was already using the c16 injector. I also tried the manifold and turbo from Full Tilt. The engine runs strong with 6–7 mpg. It seems to struggle below 1500 Rpm when I put my foot in it. Pulling a hill it seems ok to drop to 1300 but if I’m below 1500 and try add fuel it seems to bog down to the point where I back out of it.

Can't speak for the 800 hp cam, But I have a 1000+ hp cam and never a problem.

the 800hp cam needs the borg warner non wastegate turbo to work best. they also don't work very efficiently at low RPM. I usually advise my clients to be changing down 1/2 gear by no lower than 1450rpm. ideally changing down just before 1500rpm as it pulls down.
if you up the fueling with hot trims, or more ideally a larger injector it will be better.
also low fuel pressure and boost leaks will really hurt low down performance. every boost hose should be double clamped and the CACsystem pass a leak test at at least 30psi. fuel pressure should be minimum 95psi low idle and over 100 at high idle
FLS and FTS setting are another place you can assist with more power down lowLalito.1234, Navtech and swaan Thank this.
