I was told that this one had a 750k on it. I think TMC added it on when the truck was new. They had top of line warranties on everything. Our 05 intl 9400 only had the 3yr300k on the trans.

Yeah you nailed it. It just sounded like engine damage so bad cause the clutch pieces were flying around in the bell housing. You can't tell really well, but in the one pic you see all the little dings in the metal. The whole housing looked like that. The input shaft bearing was in pieces, some of which were not found.

Cat did check the engine with the flywheel on and all seemed tight. Our local cat dealer is really good, not that they couldn't be wrong about something. The flywheel seems in good shape but everything behind it was trashed.

Wow! That carnage is so extensive it will be hard to isolate what caused it.

The snapped input shaft looks suspicious. Could very well be the root cause.

If the input bearing went it would leak oil and vibrate first. Besides howling like a banshee.

Well that is good to know. I work for them. That really sucks for you though because your loosing money now having a broken truck.

This 05 379 short hood I'm in has 558K on it. I just got into it 9K miles ago and all is good so far just had a sleeper airbag go out. I was surprised at the fuel mileage to, 6 is about avg on mine so far.

Anyways good luck with everything and I hope for you that eaton pays for it all.

Yeah i am not really sure what they will find as the cause. Peterbilt called the eaton warranty rep today and he said that TMC has had a bunch of input shaft failures and eaton won't cover any of them. Eaton and TMC are supposidly working to try and figure out why they are failing.

How come you are in an 05? I thought they got rid of trucks after 350-400k? Or were the ones for sale like mine the troubled ones?
