yes the 625 and 550 435's are different compression ratio. the 7172 is an industrial application that is what you want to go with. but like I said make sure it has the acert crank in it or they wont work with an 6nz crank. 6nz is a two bolt rod cap compared to the acert 4 bolt rod cap. the rod journals are different. acert is a 6.75 stroke crank compared to 6nz being 6.5 stroke. the 7172's don't come in a overhaul package you have to buy them separate. you can save some $$$ by not getting an overhaul package. if your head is good and just needs a valve job and redeck and hopefully does not have the relief cuts KEEP IT and repair it.

Alright. Thanks superhauler. I'm new to owning a truck and I'm still learning a lot about all of this. So would you recommend getting a bronze overhaul kit which is only gaskets and bearings and piece out everything else?

I have got to do a rebuild on my C16 7CZ 600HP i have been reading on these forums about changing to assert bottom if so i will have to go with assert con rods what about best compression pistons,liners & block modification for 4 bolt conversion i think C18 HEAD bigger valves & stay with original 7cz block any advise on what to do would be a great help thank's in antisipation Regard;s Murray AUSSIE -
