I'm going to order a 389 heavy haul glider. I'm pretty well set on having a c18 built
Looking to be 900hp plus. I'm looking for someone that has gone down this road or recommendations for someone who is familiar with the c18.

Not familiar on the c18 but I'm gonna guess that's fun to drive empty and has a small drinking problem

I don't think you will be happy with it. A c-18 is a 3406-e or c-15 block with a c-18 crank and liner packs. The c-18 crank has a stroke of 7.2 compared to a-cert and c-16 6.75 stroke. The liners are thinner. There is alot of side throw force with the c-18 crank. You can make as much power with an acert crank and other parts and have a very dependable engine. The few who have done it have disappeared or you never hear about them anymore.

I talked to a guy today that supplies parts for a guy that has several c18s. Said guy really likes them. I talked to another guy that has done several... said he hasn't heard back from any of the new owners... usually no news is good news! I've got a name of a guy that has one, i need to call and chat with him. His is putting down 1300 at the crank. This is a working truck.

I'm not sure about the c18 buy when I rebuilt my c15 a guy mentioned a industrial or heavy haul kit instead of mine so I asked cat. Cat said my truck came with the normal rebuild kit but if I wanted I could order the heavy haul kit (Or industrial....cant remember what they called it) they told me it was built heavier, 1 piece pistons or some crap. They said it would hold up to the power and abuse of the heavy loads way better but it is louder.

    SAR and Oxbow Thank this.

with a C18 it will need significant cooling system capacity if your ambient temps aren't sub 25 deg C

Currently cat will not sell a 5.7 liner to a C18 serial number, only way to get one is quote a C32 serial number on the order.

they are cracking around the bottom seal area putting oil into the cooling system and causing no ended confusion and issues.

and angry NXS Acert at 16:1 will make more than enough
