Every time I have crossed in to California with a flatbed/step deck load they made a copy of my BOL. When I pulled my reefer in 2016 (the only year I pulled it) I was never asked for my BOL.
-
Not sure why they copy the BOL on flatbeds but they always copy mine when I cross into Truckee. Don't pull my FB much more my van and not once have they even looked at the BOL and I crossed that bug inspection daily for years even know some of them by name.

I was never given an answer about why they wanted a copy of my flatbed/step deck BOL's and not any of my reefer BOL's. Oh well. I don't go to California anymore in my current rig.

I went through the bug house at Needles once when I was pulling a dry van, they asked where I picked up at. When I said Texas, they made me pull over and open up the trailer doors. Said they were looking for fire ants. Guy said another truck with a reefer that was sitting there had them and they weren't going to let him into the state. Don't know what happen to him.
When I was running blanket wrap and electronics for North American Van lines they stopped me a lot and looked at my BOLs. I have heard where they give the bedbuggers a lot of attention too.
