If you don't live there or have a vehicle registered there then why did they send it to you?
If your registration is from there then you have to do it or they will probably cancel your plates.

I ignored them, I don't see California breaking down my door.

If you plan to cross into California you need to be registered with the clean truck check system regardless of where you’re from.

It’s a $30 fee to register and you need to submit an emissions test when due.

Mine was due by May 31st so I can no longer travel into CA.

OP is talking about his monthly Clean Truck Check status email.

You must have at some point opened an account with the Clean Truck Check and that’s your monthly report email. If so and you have no intention of ever going there then close your account with them..that’s what I’m doing.

When I originally signed up I only did it until the actual test came due.

I have zero problems getting a test done and think it’s a good idea for keeping your tractor running efficiently. I just won’t do it to appease
    an individual state.

Besides I haven’t been in CA in over a year due to the crap rates coming out of there. Couple that with their highest ifta rate in the nation my decision was easy. And I surely don’t miss running I-40 across AZ and NM and the damage caused by all the potholes.

Other than that I enjoyed running in and out of the state. Just doesn’t make a lick of sense to go back. I definitely will miss the Black Bear Diner in Barstow.

Ok I think I'll just close my account, I can't even find a test site close to NY.

    Siinman and Concorde Thank this.

I wouldn’t pay it or get tested. Plenty of older trucks still running around out there.

D.Tibbitt, TheLoadOut and Siinman Thank this.
