From what I’ve heard/read about getting caught.
Truck impounded until you’re compliant and a $2k to 10k fine per day.
Personally, my pockets aren’t deep enough for the gamble. -
Has anyone actually shown proof? Guy from SD that I know got a ticket 2 years ago and it was a few hundred dollars. He’s still out there weekly hauling cattle back to the Midwest with the same truck.
Sort of like the stories of guys getting caught with a big trailer and having to get it hauled out on a rail car. When I got caught with a 52ft spread it cost me $137. Lol. -
The guys I’m talking about are hauling livestock or pulling flats and hoppers.Concorde Thanks this.

Colt said when he got caught he didn’t get a fine. They told him not to come back. Says he’s not sure what will happen if they catch him again.

It’s all stated on the Clean Truck Check website FAQ’s.
I’ve already posted all this in another thread and just too lazy to go looking for it.
I really can’t say for sure when the clean truck check bs started but I don’t think it’s been up and running for two years yet. Maybe your bud got popped for some other carb bs.
The other thing people need to watch out for is reporting ifta miles in a state that you’re not compliant in.D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
I saw a video the other night about California scales setting up exhaust sniffers.
Personally I can’t afford to fafo. For me to be compliant is just a $100? Test and $30 annually.
For van rates of $1.50 and $5.00? Fuel No thanks!
I really became anti CA when they increased their ifta rate to the highest in the country.
Perhaps if the $8 - 10k east coast loads start showing up again then I may reconsider.
For now I’m not going to be their personal ATMD.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
Could be but for me the risk isn’t worth the reward..have you seen van rates out of CA

Kind of doubtful they’ll be impounding a truck loaded with cattle either.D.Tibbitt Thanks this.
