I had a 2007 volvo vnl 670 with 10 speed auto and now i have a 2011 mack 10 speed auto they both having the same problem and also some times the truck drives funny like poor suspension and alignment the common thing i noticed is the ABS/ATC/ATS TRACTION CONTROL might have something to do with this issue and it's a long trail you keep guessing and changing part and pay dealers all your money and problem never solved

You can't fix it because it's not a defect. Auto trans are a pain in the butt. You get almost nothing then suddenly it takes off, so a slow smooth maneuver is more difficult than it would be with a stick and clutch that hold the gear without throttle and lets you idle back. Imagine shifting in and out of reverse every time you tap or release the throttle; that's what auto does, and it still does it in 2016s. The end result is that you stop and start a lot more to maintain creeping speed into the spot. That heats the clutch even though you aren't manually using a clutch.
JOHNQPUBLIC Thanks this. -
