I’ve seen this in other states. Trying to build back a good association with drivers. Against the trouble the “unwanted brat of a stepchild” the FMCSA is.
I just got a clean level one inspection at the Ca border. It seemed they were calling in only good looking truck/trailers. Seeking to legitimately give clean level one inspections.
Still... best part of delivering in Ca. Is leaving Ca.
Ca. decided to be nice to drivers?

Lol when I got a random inspection they found no issue with truck BUT they brought out a tape measure and found I was just 1 hole off from 40' so got a Warning.
Pamela1990 and bzinger Thank this. -
On the supply chain. I saw a whole lotta containers on the freeways in LA. A whole lot.
Pamela1990 Thanks this. -
I think the newbies would like to know how to measure that. Since often times it’s not marked on the trailer. And Ca does stand hard on that 40 feet to center of rear axle.Pamela1990 Thanks this.

Many youtube videos on finding that 40ft mark on unmarked trailers. Maybe pull into a truck stop before Cali and look for a truck that has it marked...then just park parallel and start moving your tandems.

When pigs fly,,don't care much for California, I think the end of the world will originate there, if it hasn't already claimed that distinction. California has, for years, lived on the saying, "if this is good, more must be better". With the greed and debt, it's amazing it's still functioning at all. The one thing I don't think those folks have, is any sense of denial. They figure, everybody is stupid except them. After all, if Hollywood didn't bamboozle the public with shows about disemboweling zombies, we might actually treat people with respect again. They've crapped on truck drivers as long as I can remember, now, all of a sudden, "oh, oh, our strawberries aren't getting hauled, DO SOMETHING!!!" Ultimate crybabies, I say, welcome to the real world.

Lots of companies know the last legal hole. Based on the "normal" 5th wheel placement. If I'm remembering correctly. For Stevens transport it was the 6th hole.

I used to live in the CA Bay Area about 8 years ago. I've recently been going back with loads. What a #### hole it's become. Beautiful parks and trails that any sane person would avoid due to all the druggie and homeless. Sad.
