    Overheating can still occur with a stuck-open thermostat. What happens is the coolant doesn’t stay in the radiator long enough to dissipate the heat. The temp will slowly start creeping upward, until overheating. Ding dongs with hot rods are good for removing their thermostats and not understanding why they still have overheating. But, as everyone has noted, it’s definitely not the case, here.
