    Hey gang,
I have a weird issue with my truck (2020 Peterbuilt 579). The cab heater isn't blowing out hot air, no matter what temperature I have it set for. But at the same time, the sleeper heater IS working. We had the heater core and the AC evaporator replaced this year, and it seemed like after the evaporator was replaced, that's when this started to happen. A friend thought there might be a switch or something under the sleeper that could be controlling this--but I cannot find anything like that. As it is starting to get cold, I'd really like to get this fixed.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks for any help!

Check under the hood. There's usually a valve in the lines from radiator to heater core. Might be on the supply side to the core, might be on the return, or both.

Look for these under the hood on passenger side of engine. Screenshot_20231008_073849_Google.jpg

The valves to the cab were probably shut off during the replacement of the cab heater core, and never turned back on.

Mixer valve might not have been plugged back in/connected. That's the valve connected to the temp dial inside the cab. It's run by a servo motor these days. Usually if the water is shut off you won't have heat in the bunk, either.

If you have a battery switch turn it off or take the ground off your battery for a little bit. Could just be a computer issue for the climate control. My 2017 579 would do that once in a while, or a couple times the a/c wouldn’t get very cold but it would go back to normal after I unhooked the batteries for a few minutes.

Found out it’s an actuator, think that is what you’re getting at. On the inside passenger side. Actually don’t even know how they pop off that panel to get at the heater core so no way i coulda fixed this one solo.

Seems to be a common problem on the 579s.
